*Howard Wiley and Extra Nappy*

Extra Nappy offers a glimpse into an organically-developing musical movement encapsulating the vibrant history of African American music, from gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, and funk, all the way up to contemporary hip-hop. Bandleader Howard Wiley may still be a young lion in jazz years, but he’s also cemented a reputation as the hardest bopster around, the purveyor of a retro aesthetic which wouldn’t have been out of place when cool jazz was undergoing labor pains.

A rotating cast of local players — including Thomas Pridgen, Lionel "LJ" Holoman, Michael "Tiny" Lindsey, and Darian Gray — joins Wiley for a full-blown session encompassing original numbers as well as inspired arrangements of classic songs. Special guest vocalists add an additional element of unpredictability on any given night. Witness and hear master-level groove played so originally, it’s not just nappy, it’s Extra Nappy.

*Hot Mountain Dips*

The Hot Mountain Dips stay true to the SF music scene providing free form funkified blues with tasty grooves, all the while creating an atmosphere where heckling and "Hot Dips!" chants are always recommended. Their originals have taken the bay-area by storm, blossoming from this particular union of talent that dips deep down into that greasy loud rock and roll of generations past.

The dips played some very memorable 2016 shows in the bay area with the likes of Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident), Stu Allen (Phil & Friends/Mars Hotel), Jay Lane (Primus/Ratdog), John Paul McLean and Dave Hebert (of Melvin Seals and JGB), Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters), Jordan Feinstein (Jordan and the Ritual/Terrapin Crossroads Band) and last but not least Mad Alchemy Liquid Lite Projections. We've also been lucky enough to grace the stages like Slims, Brick and Mortar, Boom Boom Room, a crazy dippified bus to Dead & Co and of course hot dips camp at High Sierra Music Festival where it all began.

As the most dipicated dippers and dipheads say, never miss the dips! So spread dips to those that need it then invite your rowdiest friends to come GET YOUR DIPS (along with some true SF born unhinged improvisation) ->
