**THE WHITE BLINDS**

[JUNGLE FIRE SIDE PROJECT]

Emerging from the tight-knit Los Angeles Funk/Soul community, The White Blinds are one of the newest collectives to carry the torch of instrumental music in thecity of angles. The White Blinds sounds pay homage to the classic soul jazz organ trio's of the 60's and 70's with a splash of New Orleans groove and Afro-Funk overtones. This trio, led by drummer and percussionist Michael Duffy with Organist Carey Frank and Guitarist Matt Hornbeck, have come together to form a tight and soulful ensemble, filtered though the lens that is uniquely Los Angeles.

*LEANDRO JOAQUIM SEXTET*

The Leandro Joaquim Sextet is from Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil/San Francisco, CA
Leandro Joaquim began his musical career at the age 15 in his hometown of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. He studied trumpet at the Symphony Orchestra in his city and later specialized in Jazz and Música Popular Brasileira (or MPB, a trend in post-bossa nova urban popular music in Brazil that revisits typical Brazilian styles such as samba, samba-canção and baião and other Brazilian regional music, combining those with foreign influences, such as from jazz and rock) at the "Dr. Carlos de Campos Musical Conservatory "in the city of Tatuí, São Paulo.

“Sobre As Cores e a Nossa Tempo” Portuguese for "About Colors and Our Time" is the first solo album by Leandro where he plays trumpet and sings a selection of his original compositions. The album was recorded in Rio de Janeiro and released under Maravilha 8 record label. Ricardo Dias produced the album with musical participation from several dear musician friends such as Band Ce, Bnegao, Sobrado 112 and a few others who made this 9 tracks album possible.

He uses psychedelic effects while experimenting with different arrangements and formations that go from a rock'n'roll trio to a jazz quintet, through duets of puffs with piano, machines of noises, delays and synthesizers.
