"Hardly Strictly Fest AFTER-PARTY Show"

Having shared the stage with acts such as Dumpstaphunk, The New Mastersounds, The Meters' Leo Nocentelli, Shuggie Otis, and the late, great Bernie Worrell, The Humidors are in their element on stage and in the studio. Bursts and washes of B3, punchy horns, chugging percussion, thumping bass, and burning guitar leads all interweave in an infectious poly-rhythmic stew.  This band of troubadours has developed a sound that pulls from a melting pot of old-school and modern influences, yet is always rooted in a commitment to ego-less playing that embraces the ensemble approach to funk. So click the order now button below to and see why critics are calling this one of the funkiest new acts to come out of the Bay Area!

"punk-Americana...astutely written" - NO DEPRESSION

"Benyaro excels in the rougher, funkier edges of Americana.” - TWANGVILLE

"Triumphant...with a touch of humor" - GLIDE MAGAZINE

"Americana...with a splash of gritty soul and punk." - MOUNTAIN XPRESS

Voting is very important to the health of our democracy, which is why BENYARO is pleased to announce their Fall 2018 "Get out the Vote" tour. Benyaro -- the indie roots project of seclusive Jackson Hole, WY musician who's worked with such artists as Gary Clark Jr., Brett Dennen and Shovels & Rope -- announces the release of his third original full-length album, "One Step Ahead of Your Past." Produced with Danny Kadar (Avett Brothers, My Morning Jacket) and recorded at the legendary Echo Mountain Recording, 'One Step' is “a deeply personal collection of tunes from a period in which I became a husband and a father", according to Ben Musser. Songs explore the profound, vibrant, and mundane with humility and humor.
The live show features Musser playing drums, guitar and singing simultaneously with NO looping while Leif Routman rocks hard on upright bass and harmony vocals, treating audience to more sound and power than your typical duo. Catch a show to see for yourself.

    The Humidors

    The Humidors
(Members of The Mission Players, Karl Denson's Spyboy and former members of Sans Pablo)
With their debut album release in the books, The Humidors are gearing up for a big year. Whether they're playing hard-hitting funk, vintage R&B, greasy slow-burn soul, or up-tempo rock, this party ensemble is fully committed to the groove in all its shapes and forms. The band's musical fellowship began in 2010 when likeminded Bay Area musicians were brought together over a mutual love and passion for classic funk and soul. Taking their cues equally from ensembles such as Tower of Power, The J.B.s, The Headhunters, War, Santana, and other bearers of the groove torch, The Humidors won't rest until they have everyone on the dance floor bouncing.
This experienced band of troubadours is grounded in a foundation of chugging drums, bass guitar, and percussion, upon which guitar, organ/keys, and horns build an infectious polyrhythmic stew. Leading it off, vocalist Joseph Carter completes the band with his soulful singing and infectious energy. Featuring a diverse catalog of both originals and covers, The Humidors have developed a sound that pulls from a melting pot of vintage and modern influences, and is rooted in a commitment to the amazing power of the Great Group Dynamic. Meaning, when they're all together on stage, don't be surprised if they Funk You To Death!
