THE ICONIC BOOM BOOM ROOM IS OPEN ONCE AGAIN.
Since Friday the 13th of March 2020, the Boom Boom Room has been shuttered due to the pandemic. Butnow,Fridaythe13th ofAugust2021,TheBoomBoomRoomisre-openingandreadyfor business! We will be plugged in and pulling all the levers to get the Boom Boom Machine up and once again rollicking on Fillmore Street! Out of the ashes, we re-emerge as the iconic club we have always been, with some major improvements.
Opening night…Friday August 13th, Live from NOLA, BILLY IUSO and Friends! (Featuring members of the Radiators, Phil Lesh and Friends and John Cleary’s Band.)
Night 2…Saturday August 14th, Live and direct from Los Angeles, AFROLICIOUS. Both of these bands, the fired up new staff and the newly refurbished room is set and ready to take off!
Over the past 24 years, when it first opened with JOHN LEE HOOKER and ZANDER ANDREAS, the Boom Room has presented a Who’s Who of national, international and local music talent. From JOHN LEE HOOKER, Buddy MILES Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Keith Richards and Members of the Meters to up and comers like the Pimps of Joytime, Fantastic Negrito, Dragonsmoke and countless others, just about everyone it seems has played or wants to play the Boom Boom Room in this hallowed ground on that velvet stage. This intimate, classy juke joint setting is “the best of what San Francisco has to offer”.
Come check out the new checkerboard floors, new velvet curtains, shiny railings and brand new dance floor! To boot we have an incredible new sound system and Light configuration that updates and enhances the Boom Boom Experience.
